Polish Board Games — A Hidden Goldmine for Collectors
Fun fact: Poland is one of the largest board game publishing markets in Europe — and Polish editions are often 40–50% cheaper than their English counterparts.
Board game collectors are sleeping on Polish publishers - this post is absolutely right. Lacerta, Galakta, and Portal Games in particular produce editions with production quality that rivals or beats the English originals. The linen-finish cards and thick punchboards are a step above what you see in mass-market Western releases. What makes it even better for collectors: some Polish editions have exclusive cover art commissioned specifically for the Polish market, making them genuinely unique items. Neuroshima Hex for example has an entirely different visual identity in the Polish edition. Shipping board games internationally is worth doing but pack carefully - corner damage is the main risk. A good forwarding service will double-box and add corner protection. Also worth consolidating if you are buying multiple games since the weight-to-value ratio is good once you are already paying for the shipment.
